The title "Chazon Ish" is derived from the Hebrew words "Chazon" meaning "vision" or "prophecy," and "Ish" meaning "man." The Chazon Ish, Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz,  was given this title as a mark of respect and recognition of his spiritual insight, wisdom, and leadership within the Jewish community. It signifies his status as a visionary figure, someone who possessed deep understanding and foresight in matters of Jewish law, ethics, and spirituality.

Even after his passing in 1953, his legacy continues to inspire generations of Jews seeking guidance in matters of faith and observance.
